CV of Sandro Lattante

Sandro Lattante was born in Lecce in 1975.

He took the master degree in Physics in 2003 – with a thesis entitled ‘’Optical Gain in thin films of Dioxide Oligothiophenes’’(Thesis Advisors: Prof. Roberto Cingolani and Dr Marco Anni).

From 2004 to 2007 he was PhD student at the University of Salento, Department of Physics and National Nanotechnology Laboratory of INFM-CNR under the supervision of Prof. M. Martino and Dr. M. Anni. The research activity was focused on the optoelectronic properties – in particular on the optical gain – of semiconducting conjugated polymers and oligomers.

In July 2007 he obtained the PhD title with a thesis entitled ‘’Optical Gain Properties of Organic Compounds Thin Films: Towards Organic Laser Diode’’.

In October 2006 he was visiting scientist in the Lichttechnisches Institut - AG Visuelle Informationstechnik und Optoelektronik - Universität Karlsruhe for the characterization of organic waveguides with conductive oxide electrodes.

From September 2007 to February 2009 he was a Marie Curie RTN Experienced Researcher under the project ‘’SolarNType – Development of n-type polymer materials and their use in organic solar cells’’ in the Linz Institute for Organic Solar Cell (LIOS) of Johannes Kepler University of Linz under the supervision of Prof. N. S. Sariciftci and Dr H. Neugebauer, working on organic bulk heterojunction solar cells.

In December 2007 and in February 2009 he was granted by two European Scientific Foundation (ESF) grants for performing resonant Raman and IR photo-induced absorption spectroscopic experiments in ISMAC-CNR in Milan, partner of the SolarNType project, after submitting a research project proposal within the ESF activity entitled ‘’New Generation of Organic based Photovoltaic Devices’’.

From November 2009 he is a post doc researcher in the University of Salento, Department of Innovation Engineering under the framework of the project entitled ‘’Advanced light harvesting for organic based solar energy conversion (ALHSOLAR)’’, funded under 7th FWP (Seventh Framework Programme) - Marie Curie European Reintegration Grant. The main activity consists in the study of the light harvesting and the optimization of organic bulk heterojunction solar cells under ambient condition.

He is author and coauthor of 19 publication in peer-reviewed international papers and has participated with oral and poster presentation in several international conferences (ICSM, ECME8, Photon 2008/QEP-18) and several international workshops/meetings.

CV of Andrea Perulli

Andrea Perulli was born in Lecce in 1985.

He took his first level degree in 2007 in the Università del Salento with a thesis entitled: “Characterization of X rays detector based on CdTe for imaging” (Thesis Advisor: Prof. Lorenzo Vasanelli and Dr Adriano Cola).

In 2010 he took his Master Degree in Physics in the Università del Salento with a thesis entitled: “Realization and characterization of bulk heterojunction organic solar cells” (Thesis Advisor: Prof. Lorenzo Vasanelli and Dr Marco Anni).
He is currently PhD Student in Energetic Systems and environment in the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Innovazione  XXVI ciclo.
